Seeing through the Lens of Love

Hello and welcome back. I am as always grateful to those of you on this journey with me as we embrace life with gratitude, love and peace.
When we shift our perspective to come through the lens of love, this can help us to see things with compassion and kindness. It reminds us that there is a bigger picture than what we first thought.
When you look in the mirror do you judge yourself harshly or put yourself down in any way? Perhaps try instead to look through your eyes with love for the body that has served you through this life. Each scar holds a memory, each line carry’s part of your life story. This precious body has been with you and felt and carried the emotions with you. It is the temporary home to your soul while it experiences life here on earth. Everything is energy, so let your body know you are grateful with a simple thank you and sending it love for how amazing it truly is.
The person driving in front of you may be travelling 10km under the speed limit and you might feel some irritation arise. If you can, stop for a moment, look through the situation with the lens of love. Perhaps they have been placed in front of you to stop you from getting a speed fine further down the road, or perhaps there is a car accident that is now avoided because of the magical timing of the universe to help slow you down.
The new person at work may be very loud and your mind may go to judge them, but instead, pause and then look through the lens of love. Perhaps they grew up in a home where they were never heard, and their inner child still craves that attention.
Someone may cut you off in traffic and your first reaction may be to go to a space of anger. Breathe, take a deep breath and then look through the lens of love. They may have an emergency for a friend or loved one to get to.
If someone is rude to you, puts you down or yells at you, pause, with the lens of love we know they are the ones hurting inside and this is their way of lashing out. Do not take on their energy, instead speak calmly and from a space of love and if need be, remove yourself from the situation.
It becomes much easier to navigate through life when we stop reacting or judging ourselves, a situation, or another person immediately. When you know you have been affected that is your alarm bell to stop, take that deep breath and remember there is a bigger picture.
Perhaps the bigger picture is that the person who cut you off was just selfish and wanted to push ahead of other cars. Now you can still put on the lens of love. There has likely been an event or string of events in their life that shaped them to become this person who was just thoughtless and careless.
Looking through the lens of love is not about condoning negative behaviour, it is simply to remind yourself that there is always a bigger picture at hand than we may see from our own personal perspective. We may not hold the power to control what happens to us, but we always have the power to decide how to respond to the situation. This gift that we have then helps create and shape what happens next.
For the next few weeks if you so choose, practice the pause, the deep breath, and look through the lens of love. See if this helps to bring about a calmer reaction than you may have done previously. Each day, speak to your body knowing every cell is listening and responding to your thoughts and words. I personally say “I thank you, I love you, I appreciate you”
You are more powerful than you have been taught. Your thoughts, words and reactions are a gift if you understand the power they have.
I wish you much love and light and look forward to the next post.
Michelle
