Owning your power

Hello and welcome back! I hope this post finds you well on this journey.


Part of navigating our challenges as a soul while having a human experience is to learn how to own our power. There are many occasions where we unknowingly give our power away. When the words or actions from someone else or from an event affect you negatively you have given some of your energy, your power, away. 


Our energy is sacred and it is important we understand how to maintain and protect it. When someone or something affects you, upsets you or has any negative impact on you, this is an internal alarm. It is important to become completely present in the moment and become aware of what it is that has affected you.  


It is very easy to be taken over by our emotions but with awareness and presence we can learn that this internal alarm is actually a very positive thing. We can often be harsh on ourselves after the fact for not handling something better. This only brings us down further, so this is not the ideal path. I believe these internal alarms, even if we end up following the emotion at that point in time and review how we handled it later, are pointers there to guide us on what we have left to work on.


This means that our internal alarm is an amazing gift. So now what do we do? We can become very present and very honest with ourselves first of all and this can be quite confronting. What was it that created the negative feeling we now carry? We may discover we have to still work on patience, on forgiveness, on anger challenges or perhaps on letting go of our ego. Our ego can be quite stubborn and also quite defensive, and I understand because I live through the same challenges.


The good news is you now have further guidance on what you may have left to work on, if you so choose. My advice is to try not to take life so seriously, life is precious, place your focus on what you are grateful for, rather than give attention to any unnecessary drama, comment or event.


To own your power is to realise that you are already perfect. It is to realise that any anger, or what we may feel is an untoward judgement against us does not have to hold power over us, unless we allow it. You choose what you allow to upset you, anger you, sadden you and frustrate you.


Please understand that part of our human journey is to experience an arrange of emotions and feelings. We will go through times of genuine heartache and grief. What I am addressing here is for situations where we have unnecessarily given our power, our divine energy away, and the end result only drains us further.


For the next few weeks, every time you have a negative experience , take several  deep breaths and quiet the mind and ask yourself what truly affected you in a negative manner. Next breathe in beautiful golden white light and feel it light up your body, mind and soul and breathe out the negativity.

 

You are more powerful than you realise.
